I owe you.

#nat has a complicated relationship with love and debt and when do things for her change from a sense of debt and duty to love and loyalty  #and i’ll follow you because i’ll follow YOU  #your cause might not be my cause because ideals aren’t really my thing but i’ll make it mine because i believe in you  #regimes fall every day after all but people - the few she chooses - they stay  #and natasha admires steve and has affection for him  #how can she not for a man who has a ledger to admire when she’s someone who has one painted in red and wants differently  #but more than that she knows steve is simply a good man and maybe worth trusting of something more vulnerable  #there was something open and almost childlike when she asked him to be honest if he would trust her  #from the beginning she was teasing him and it was her version of bonding  #and steve respects her and has picked up a good natured rapport with her  #but he doesn’t really know her or how to read her sometimes and it’s hard to be friends with someone you don’t know  #and he can get frustrated and disappointed with her and that obviously affects her  #trust and secrets are a tool for her to use with others  #but it’s something else to receive trust and honesty and have it just be for the sake of it  #because once upon a time clint saw something in her and made a different call and maybe he was right  #maybe there’s something good and worthy and simply more about her  #so it’s very naked and vulnerable of her to sit there and ask him to trust her  #'who do you want me to be?' 'how about a friend?' and she tries

this scene is just golden because tony was never planning to reveal his identity as iron man. but right when blondie laughs and says ‘i never said you were a superhero’, she obviously hit a nerve and tony literally goes ‘alright, you wanna play? i can play’, LOOKS HER STRAIGHT FUCK IN THE EYE, AND TELLS THE WHOLE WORLD HE’S IRON MAN. A SUPERHERO.

well played tony

well played

 (via clintbarttons)

creeped out by how many people hate everheart tbh. her role in the movies was sleeping w/ tony and pepper literally called her trash for doing so, and this scene where she plays tony perfectly.

I’d say her role is even bigger. Remember that scene at the party? Christine’s not just a persistent journalist goading Tony into outing himself as Iron Man - she’s like the public conscience of the MCU. She’s the one who inspires Tony to fight with illegal arms trade that has been going right under his nose. She makes him face his own ignorance and indifference to the problem he’s indirectly causing.

Christine is one of the main triggers in Iron Man’s origins story. Never forget that.

On not liking to be handed things:
Christine Everhart handing him that photo is the moment that everything starts to really cascade.  It’s what makes him realize his company underneath him is corrupted as hell and not just a little negligent.  It’s what leads him to run outside and confront Stane and learn that his father-figure has been stabbing him repeatedly in the back.  It’s the point that the rug gets fully jerked out from under his feet and he finds himself on the road to nearly seeing Pepper die, to nearly dying himself at Stane’s hands, and then watching Stane die, which -must- hurt even though Tony’s been extremely betrayed.  The theory is that her handing him that photo was the start of the slide down that particularly painful slope, which is why now that someone tries to hand him something, his brain just goes “NOPE.”

That time Peter Parker was trained by Natasha Romanoff.

It’s a spider thing

It’s a spider thing

Don’t you love how Peter can do it with his calves but Natasha has to use her inner thighs. This whole equality thing is great.

Thighs are stronger than calves, and you can get a tighter grip, as well as have a higher chance of breaking things. Peter was intending to disarm, Natasha was ready to kill. Natasha is a trained assassin, and Peter is a student who works for a newspaper.
Given their backgrounds and experiences, it would be UNequal to have Peter using skills and disarming tactics that Natasha was trained to do so.

So yes, this whole equality thing is great.
